The first batch of Lagos State Pilgrims has been conferred with the prestigious title of Jerusalem Pilgrim,JP, at a ceremony held at Nazareth, Israel.
Delivering a keynote address, the Acting Charge d’Affaires of the Nigerian Embassy in Israel and representative of the Nigerian Ambassador, Mr. Ode Ikwe admonished the newly inducted Jerusalem Pilgrims to embrace their new identity as Ambassadors of their communities, states, families, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In his remarks, the Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite led prayers for President Bola Tinubu, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his cabinet.
He also expressed appreciation to Justices of the Law, Permanent Secretaries, spiritual leaders and other federal and state dignitaries in attendance.
Also present at the award ceremony was the General Manager of Tabar Tours, Miss Shadia Srour.
She expressed gratitude to the Nigerian government and people for their continued support and cooperation, which has strengthened ties and contributed to the success of pilgrimage activities over the years.
The colorful event was attended by Justices of the Lagos High Court, Permanent Secretaries, spiritual leaders, and top government officials from both federal and state levels.
Meanwhile, the Board Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Dr. Gbolabo Okudero announced that the second batch of Lagos State pilgrims is scheduled to depart on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 for another 10-day pilgrimage.
