Lagos Sets November Deadline for 2026 Hajj Deposit Payment

The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed November 2025 as the deadline for intending pilgrims to pay the initial deposit of ₦8.5 million for the 2026 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.

The Commissioner for Home Affairs, Mr. Olanrewaju Ibrahim Layode, announced the deadline during a meeting with stakeholders at the Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.

Layode explained that the decision aligns with the guidelines and calendar released by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

He stressed that Lagos would strictly adhere to the directives, hence the early commencement of operations, including the sale of forms and other preparatory processes, to be concluded by December 2025.
