The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA has reaffirmed its commitment to fairness by pledging equitable compensation to residents affected by the ongoing Quality Bus Corridors and Multimodal Transport Interchange Project.
In partnership with Agence Française de Développement, LAMATA is disbursing compensation to landlords and tenants affected by the project.
At the Surulere Local Government Office, affected residents gathered with documentation to claim what they were promised.
In a statement, the Managing Director of LAMATA, Mrs Abimbola Akinajo, noted that its Resettlement Action Plan followed global best practices, ensuring that no one was left worse off due to the project.
