The Permanent Secretary Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, has confirmed the death of two people as two 40ft container trucks were involved in a collision at Cele Bus Stop, inward Mile 2.
Dr Oke-Osanyintolu said a moving truck rammed into a stationary truck from behind, reportedly due to over-speeding, which resulted into fatalities of the driver and a pedestrian crossing the road.
According to LASEMA PS, the victims remain trapped as heavy-duty recovery equipment is en route.
Traffic control measures are in place to prevent secondary incidents.
First responders at the scene include Eagle Response Team and LASTMA on scene while super Metro and SEHMU expected for recovery and evacuation.
