LASEMA Hosts Transport Policy Review Committee

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, has received the Committee on Lagos State Transport Policy Review, led by Chairman Dr. George Adegboyega Banjo on a courtesy visit at the Agency’s office at Alausa.

The committee discussed the Lagos State Transport Policy’s implications for emergency management and public safety with LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu.

Key areas of focus included multimodal transportation systems, safety regulations, land use planning, and accessibility for physically challenged individuals.

Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu emphasized strengthening emergency responsecapacity through collaboration and data-driven operations, highlighting the Command and Control Centre’s role.

He stressed continuous stakeholder engagement, public sensitization, and advocacy on road safety, water transport safety, and railway safety compliance.

Ongoing collaborations with the Lagos State Institute of Disaster Management and Lagos State University of Transportation aim to build capacity through practical disaster management training.
