NDLEA arrests Indian lady, others with 11kg of heroin packaged as chocolates, tramadol, skunk

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Kano, has arrested a 42-year-old Indian lady, Ms. Neetu Neetu, at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport with 11 kilograms of heroin, packaged as chocolates and hidden in her luggage.

The arrest is seen as a growing trend of drug traffickers using white ladies and foreign nationals to move illicit drugs through Nigerian borders.

NDLEA spokesman, Mr. Femi Babafemi in a statement says, in another operation, a 45-year-old suspect, Michael Ogundele, was arrested with a 50-litre steel gas cylinder containing 50,000 pills of tramadol 225mg. The cylinder was cut open using welding tools to extract the drugs.

While in Lagos, multiple arrests were made, including the duo of Olumuyiwa Kolawole and Samod Adisa, who were caught with 67.5kg of skunk.

Another suspect, Isah Idris and Yahaya Mohamed were arrested with 4.5kg of skunk, 600grams of tramadol 225mg, and 30litres of codeine syrup and different quantities of cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine.

Mr. Babafemi stated that, the agency’s operatives have been working tirelessly to disrupt the activities of drug trafficking organizations, using modern technological tools and proactive intelligence to stay one step ahead of the criminals.

The Chairman, NDLEA, Brig Gen. Buba Marwa (Rtd), has commended the agency’s operatives for their vigilance and proactive approach in disrupting drug trafficking activities.

He noted that, the agency’s efforts have been instrumental in frustrating the attempts of drug traffickers to move illicit drugs through Nigerian borders.
