The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued a directive to all accredited tertiary institutions, mandating them to update and upload the details of all their students to a dedicated verification portal.
The move is a critical step ahead of the official opening of the loan application portal for the 2025/2026 academic session.
In a statement, the Fund explained that this process is aimed at ensuring a seamless verification and loan application process for students.
It emphasized that only students whose details have been duly uploaded and verified by their institutions will be eligible to apply for and benefit from the student loan scheme.
NELFUND acknowledged the vital role of tertiary institutions in the success of the programme and sought their continued cooperation.
The initiative is part of the collective goal to expand access to higher education for all eligible Nigerian students.
