A non-governmental organisation, Open Hands Amazing Charitable Foundation, has extended humanitarian support to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and hospitalised children in Benue State, providing meals and relief materials to more than 1,000 beneficiaries.
The Founder of the Foundation and Chief Executive Officer of Dynamic Healthcare Medicals, Dr. Magdalene Agada, said the intervention was driven by compassion and a desire to support vulnerable people facing the twin challenges of economic hardship and insecurity.
The outreach targeted children at the International Market Internally Displaced Persons Camp in Makurdi as well as patients receiving treatment at the Paediatric Ward of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital. Hundreds of displaced children received meals and essential relief items, while sick children undergoing treatment at the teaching hospital were also provided with food and support.
Dr. Agada described the initiative as a modest expression of love and solidarity with those facing difficult circumstances, noting that no child should be denied care, comfort or hope because of displacement, poverty or illness.
The latest intervention adds to a growing record of humanitarian activities undertaken by the philanthropist across different parts of Nigeria. Through the Open Hands Amazing Charitable Foundation, she has consistently provided food, medical assistance, educational materials, spiritual resources and other forms of support to internally displaced persons, vulnerable families, schools, hospitals, churches and underserved communities.
Observers of her humanitarian work note that one of its distinguishing features is consistency. Rather than limiting her efforts to occasional donations, Dr. Agada has maintained a sustained commitment to identifying areas of need and providing practical assistance to those most affected by social and economic challenges.
