Nigerian Air Force Showcases Unity, Culture, Operational Success at Lagos BASA

The Flag officer commanding Western Naval Command , Rear Admiral Abubakar Mustapha has commended the great role the Nigerian Airforce is playing across the nation in solidifying the security of the nation with other security outfit.


Rear Admiral Mustapha made this known in Lagos as the special guest of honour at the Headquarters Logistics Command Nigerian Airforce Base Social Cultural Activities ,BASA, in Ikeja.

The Flag officer commanding Western Naval Command , Rear Admiral Abubakar Mustapha represented by the Chief staff officer, western naval command Rear Admiral Nnamdi Ekwom said the Nigerian Airforce has continued to demonstrate excellency in operations and commended the efforts of the command in contributing significantly in realizing the objective of the Nigerian Airforce.

The Special guest of honour noted that the Nigerian Airforce plays a critical role in national security and applauded those who got various award at the ceremony to double their efforts in enhancing the efficiency of the Armed Forces.

The Flag officer commanding western Naval Command lauded personnel of the force and their families for showcasing a rich cultural heritage of Nigeria while observing the unity amongst the Nigerian Airforce.

In an address of Welcome ,The Air Officer Commanding Logistics Command Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Suleh said the past year was very fruitful to the command with the help of personnel of the service as very laudable achievements were recorded at providing sufficiently to operations, including host communities .

The Base Socio-Cultural Activities is an annual Nigerian Airforce event marking the end of an operational and training year.
It is designed to promote unity, boost morale and further cement cultural integration among personnel.

The memorable occasion, featured presentation of awards to outstanding soldiers from the host units, exhibitions of Nigerian cultural and traditional cuisines and attire, cultural performances, comedy , tug-of-war competition, the lowering of the National Flag, and the lighting of the bonfire to signify the end of the historic event.
