A non-governmental organisation, Doxa Health Foundation has provided free Hepatitis screenings, vaccinations, and referrals to over one thousand, one hundred and ten residents of Mogadishu Cantonment, Asokoro, Abuja, from July, 2025 to January 2026.

The outreach, which targeted both civilians and military personnel, aimed to raise awareness and offer life-saving intervention against hepatitis B and C.Founder and Executive Director of the Foundation, Miss Glory Akawu, told newsmen in Abuja that Hepatitis B remains a silent epidemic in the country often undetected until it causes irreversible liver damage.

Miss Akawu said Hepatitis is a silent killer which can damage the liver and compromise its vital functions, saying that by offering free testing, vaccinations, and referrals, the foundation hopes to empower people to detect and treat the infection early.
She said that those individual who tested positive for hepatitis after three phases after the diagnosis were successfully linked to treatment and management with their treatment journey progressing remarkably well, with beneficiaries reporting improved health, renewed hope, and visible joy as they continue to respond positively to care.
