In response to reported misconduct by some officers at the Seme border Control, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has pledged to address unprofessional behavior decisively.
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, expressing concern over the alleged activities, has directed immediate action to eradicate such behavior, emphasizing the need to maintain the NIS’s values.
According to a statement from the Service Public Relations Officer, Mr. Aridegbe Adedotun, the Comptroller General of Immigration, Mrs. Caroline Adepoju, has declared severe consequences for proven allegations, highlighting their inconsistency with NIS standards.
The Comptroller General affirmed that the NIS is implementing changes at borders to ensure the smooth passage of migrants while safeguarding national security.
She assured the public of a thorough investigation, emphasizing the NIS’s commitment to professionalism, integrity, and service to the nation.
