The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has issued warnings to four terminal operators over cases of environmental pollution within its facilities.
The Port Complex Manager, Mr. Debo Lawal, disclosed this in Lagos, noting that managing the port system requires tackling a wide range of operational, environmental, and organisational challenges.
He, however, stressed that no challenge is insurmountable with adequate planning and proactive solutions. On security, Mr. Lawal said the authority maintains close collaboration between its security department and the port police, ensuring constant patrols across the port system and waterways.
He further revealed that management has recently deployed additional watercraft to the marine police, strengthening security operations ahead of the busy September–December period.
