After enjoying rest today, all six teams will fire back to action as the Nigeria Premier Football League championship Playoffs reach penultimate stage tomorrow June 9 in Lagos.

Defending champions and 2nd placed Rivers United, badly in need of maximum points to keep alive hopes of retaining their trophy, will face unbeaten 4th placed Bendel Insurance from 2PM, Remo Stars in 3rd place, confront bottom placed Lobi Stars at 4PM while table toppers Enyimba International square up to Sunshine Stars at 6PM.
Meanwhile Enyimba players seemed to be comfortable playing at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena Onikan, venue of the championship.
The Aba Warlords were forced to a 1-1 draw by Brendel Insurance yesterday to stay atop the standings and their manager Finidi George feels the playing surface in Lagos suits their system.
“This is the type(of pitch) we have in Aba,we are not new to it.
“We know how to play on a turf like this.”
Going by the 1all draw against Insurance on matchday 3, it seemed Enyimba didn’t capitalize on their knowledge about the playing turf.
In the early exchanges it looked as if the People’s Elephants were on cruise control as Sadiq Abubakar curled in a beautiful strike in the 24th minute to send the former champions 1nil ahead.
Any chance of Enyimba running away with maximum points on the day was thwarted by Divine Nwachukwu who nodded in unchallenged close to the 6 yard area to draw Insurance level on 37 minutes.
Elsewhere Remo failed to see out a 1nil lead as they allowed Gyang Lucky to level for Sunshine while Rivers and Lobi fired blanks in the 3rd match of the day.

To add spice to the occasion the organisers of the competition has contracted renowned musician Brymo to perform on the final day 11 June 2023.
To watch Brymo and the final day matches, fans are expected to pay N2000 for regular seats while N3000 gain spectators access to the VIP area.
