The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) has unveiled the national Stallions Sevens squad for the 2025 Rugby Africa Men’s Sevens Tournament, scheduled for June 21–22 at the Labourdonnais Sports Club in Mauritius.
Nigeria, drawn in Pool B, will face South Africa, Burkina Faso, and Zambia.
Twelve top African nations will compete, with the winner earning a spot in the 2025 World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series.
Head Coach Steve Lewis expressed confidence in the team’s preparation, following a rigorous two-month campaign featuring appearances at the Abeokuta Cup 7s, London Floodlit 7s, Summer Socials, and Manor 7s.“We’re proud of the players’ commitment and excited to welcome back Declan Nwachukwu and Kolade Adedoyin from injury,” Lewis said.
“New additions like Joshua Addams, Isa Omale, Tuoyo Egodo, and Akeem Yusuf bring great energy.”The squad blends experience and youth, led by captain Kitto Oliver, with veterans like Frederick Henry-Ajudua and Oghenesuvwe Obano offering strength and stability.
Final preparations include a pre-tournament training camp in London.
The NRFF thanked the National Sports Commission, partners, and fans for their support in advancing Nigerian rugby.
