NUJ/ NAWOJ congratulates Ajayi as Head of NAN Lagos office.

It has been jubilation galore as colleagues, friends and well wishers  continue to dole out congratulatory calls and  messages to Mr Adeleye Ajayi, Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Lagos State Council for wearing two caps within 24 hours.

Ajayi became the Head of NAN Lagos office as a result of his professionalism.

In a press release, the Vice Chairman of the Council, Mr Phillip Nwosu, said, the news did not come as a surprise like many others  because, Ajayi has distinguished himself as a versatile and hardworking personality.

” He is a man who has paid his dues in journalism with top notch international exposure “. Nwosu

According to him, the former President of the Maritime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has a track record of success, which he extended to Lagos State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, where he is doing Lagos Journalists proud.

” No doubt, interesting times await staff members of NAN Lagos, as the man at the helm of affairs is a thorough bred professional, who will go any length to get the job done “. Nwosu

He says, ” We are equally hopeful that the experience he has gathered over the years, laced with his exposure and contacts, will further make NAN the envy of others, under a visionary leader that prioritises staff welfare “.

Expressing confidence in his emergence, the Council wishes him a successful tenure in office.

Subsequently, the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Lagos State Chapter has also congratulated the Lagos Council,  NUJ Chairman on his appointment as Head of the News Agency of Nigeria, (NAN), Lagos Office.

The State Chairperson of the association Dr Adeola Ekine, dropped the congratulatory message saying that, ” the position reflects his great leadership, dedication, and achievements to the world of journalism “.

” Your exceptional work as Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has been laudable, and we are confident that you will bring the same level of professionalism, integrity, and passion to your new role at NAN Lagos “. She said

Ekine  noted that, his extensive media business knowledge and expertise would help NAN continue to succeed and grow, adding that, ” his appointment is a tribute to his personal accomplishments as well as his dedication to quality work and priceless contributions to Nigeria’s media environment “. 

” We are so proud of you and will be there for you as you start this new chapter in your career. We anticipate seeing you succeed going forward and the significant contribution you will surely make in your new position”. She stressed.

Dr Ekine expressed the hope that, the new role is everything he ever hoped for.
