NYSC Improves Course Content of Its Orientation programme

The National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, says it has improved the  course content of its Orientation programme for Youths Corps members across the country to further instill the spirit of patriotism in them.

The Lagos State Coordinator,  NYSC, Mrs.Yetunde Baderinwa made this known at the Swearing-in of the 2023 Batch ‘B’ stream one corps members deployed to Lagos state, held at the NYSC Orientation camp, in Iyana-Ipaja Lagos. 

She said that the Orientation Course content had undergone some evolutionary transformation to reflect the present realities in the country. 

She explained that the training would deliberately teach the corps members to uphold national values and moral uprightness.

Mrs. Baderinwa said that the improved course content for corps members would also mold them to be mobile conveyors of national development wherever they would be serving.

NYSC boss in Lagos State stressed that the Corps Members should see their call to national service as an opportunity to contribute their quota to the development of the country. 

She however,  urged the Lagos state government to expedite action on the construction of a permanent Orientation camp for the scheme in the state to create enough space for the ever increasing corps members being posted to Lagos state. 

In a message to the event, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu urged the new Corps members posted to the state to take advantage of all the trainings that they would be exposd to during the Orientation course, particularly, the various skills acquisition programmes capable of impacting in them the right knowledge that would make them  job creators.

He also advised them to contribute meaningfully to the development of their primary places of assignment after the Orientation course.

Justice Olubusola Okunuga later administered Nysc Oath of Allegiance on the Two Thousand,  Five Hundred and Forty-Eight corps members on the parade ground on behalf of the chief judge of Lagos state, Justice Kazeem Alogba.
