National Youths Corps Members have been advised to key into the core values of the National Youths Service scheme aimed at preparing them for leadership positions that will in turn make them role models to upcoming youths.
The Coordinator, National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, Lagos State, Mrs. Christiana Salmwang gave the advice at the Swearing-in of the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Corps members deployed to Lagos state.
She pointed out that most of the training programmes packaged by NYSC, into the orientation Course for Youths Corps members were aimed at empowering them for various assignments ahead of them after graduation from tertiary institutions.
She stressed that part of the key trainings Corps members were usually exposed to right from the Orientation camp were leadership based trainings which were aimed at preparing them to be good leaders wherever they found themselves.
The NYSC boss in Lagos State therefore, urged the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Corps members just deployed to the state to be committed to all camp activities, rules and regulations.
Mrs. Salmwang however , urged the Coprs members to be security conscious wherever they found themselves even after the three weeks Orientation course.
She also announced that Corps members that were pregnant, the nursing mothers and those with critical health conditions had been granted permission to stay off the Orientation camp in order to prevent them from engaging in the strenuous activities on the camp ground
In a message to the event, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu called on the Corps members to support the government in implementing Its developmental programmes aimed at improving the lives of the people.
He advised the Corps members to impact their host community positively as government would not fail to reward Corps members that performed exceptionally well in impacting their host community positively in the course of the one year mandatory national service in Lagos State.
A total of Two Thousand, Nine hundred and Nine Corps Members posted to Lagos State for the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream One service year took the NYSC Oath of Allegiance at the Sweating-in ceremony before Justice Muibat Balogun on behalf of the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Kazeem Alogba.
