The Oba of Lagos,Oba Rilwan Aremu Akiolu has expressed optimism that Nigeria will overcome her numerous challenges and come out better and stronger.
Oba Akiolu made this known when he received the Management team of Radio Nigeria, Lagos Operations, led by the Director, Mrs Bolanle Owoyemi at his palace in Iga lduganran on Lagos lsland.
Oba Akiolu who expressed worry on the level of poverty in the country, urged political office holders in the country to always deliver on their promises to the people.
“One thing I know is that there is still hope for Nigeria, Provided we change we move closer to God and we don’t lay more emphasis on Money”
Speaking on the importance of the media, Oba Akiolu urged the management of the radio stations under Radio Nigeria,Lagos Operations to do more programmes to re- orientate the youths to embrace hardwork and shun thuggery and hooliganism.
Oba Akiolu urged the media to always speak the truth at all times without bias, so as to achieve the Nigeria of our dreams.
In her remarks, the Director, Radio Nigeria, Lagos Operations, Mrs Bolanle Owoyemi who explained that she led her team to pay homage for the first time since she assumed office, thanked the Monarch for his continuous support to the corporation in Lagos.
“We sincerely thank you sir, Alayeluwa for what you have been doing in Lagos State, there is unity in the Land and we see so much from all you have said, as the father of all”.
“Apart from Bond FM 92.9, we have another station Metro FM 97.7 apart from Metro, we have another one Radio One 103.5FM”.
Mrs Owoyemi said she was in the palace to seek the monarch’s royal blessings to succeed in her duties.
The Radio Nigeria management team included the General Manager of Bond FM, Princess Adenike Adegoke, Deputy Director News and Current Affairs, Mr Fred Shaka – Braimah, Deputy Director Administration, Patrica Aganoke, General Manager Radio One, Mr Korede Ogunbunmi, General Manager Metro FM, Mrs Ifeoma Okpala.
Others are the Assistant Director Engineering Services, Mr Ademola Akanbi, Assistant Directors Marketing, Mr Wale Sobande and Dorothy Aralu.
