In a decisive move, President Bola Tinubu has endorsed the suspension and replacement of top officials within aviation agencies under the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, as outlined in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser, Ajuri Ngelale.

The restructuring includes significant appointments, such as Mrs. Olubunmi Oluwaseun Kuku replacing Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed as the Managing Director of FAAN and Mallam Umar Ahmed Farouk taking over from Mr. Tayib Adetunji Odunowo as the Managing Director of NAMA.

Other key changes involve Mr. Alex Badeh Junior assuming the role of Director-General of NSIB, Professor Charles Anosike succeeding Professor Mansur Bako Matazu as the Director-General of NIMET, and Mr. Joseph Shaka Imalighwe replacing Captain Alkali Mahmud Modibbo as the Rector of NCAT.

Captain Musa Shuaibu Nuhu, Director-General of NCAA, has been placed on suspension pending an EFCC investigation, with Captain Chris Najomo stepping in as the Acting Director-General.

President Tinubu has delegated authority to the Minister of Aviation to meticulously appoint a substantive Vice-Chancellor and other principal officers for AAAU.

The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development’s spokesman, Odutayo Oluseyi, clarified that the directors affected by the directive, spanning FAAN, NiMET, NAMA, NCAA, and NSIB, are to promptly hand over to the most senior officers in their respective directorates.

The restructuring aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, aiming to enhance the aviation industry’s efficiency and safety, ensuring a seamless air travel experience for Nigerians.

Unaffected by the changes are the agencies’ Board Secretaries and Legal Advisers, as emphasized in the official statement.
