Radio Nigeria Staffers Advised To Groom Their Younger Colleagues

The Director, Lagos Operations of the FRCN, DLO, Mrs Bolanle Owoyemi has charged senior reporters in the zone to groom their younger colleagues in order not to create a gap when such senior reporters move on to higher positions.

Mrs Owoyemi gave the charge when she received management staff of the News Sub-Directorate who were in her office to present two awards won by Radio Nigeria’s Aviation Correspondent, Mrs Nosa Osula-Aituamen to her.

The DLO commended Mrs Aituamen for her creative way of reporting and for making Radio Nigeria stand out in the Aviation sector.

“I am so proud of you, even though the medium is Radio, you always report in such a way that listeners can see what you are talking about in their minds, thank you for doing us proud on this your beat, with what you have done, I am so bold to say that in FRCN, we stand out in this industry. However, I want to encourage you to start mentoring someone who can fill your shoes, that’s something we are lacking in the system, remember we are trained to train, if you mentor someone, it goes a long way when you eventually move on” the DLO advised.

Nosa Osula-Aituamen’s programme “Aviation’s Runway” on Metro 97.7fm had bagged the 2021 Best Radio Station of the Year’s award for the Station, while she herself was also inducted into the Aviation Hall of Fame for her contributions and for being an asset to the sector.

The multiple award winner who thanked Radio Nigeria for giving her the platform and her listeners for loving the programme and her reportage, attributed her outstanding performance to passion for the job and a conducive environment made possible by her numerous bosses in the corporation.
