Royal Air Maroc Pays NCAA Sanction Fee, Faces Fresh Warning Over Baggage Issues

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has confirmed Royal Air Maroc has paid the sanction fee imposed on it earlier this year for consumer protection-related violations.

According to NCAA, the Moroccan carrier was fined the heaviest among foreign airlines following repeated incidents of short-landed baggage and an initial lack of responsiveness to passenger complaints.

While the airline has since improved in handling complaints, baggage issues remain a concern.

The regulatory body, disclosed that the NCAA recently held a virtual meeting with the airline to better understand the challenges, but warned that heavier sanctions may follow if the situation does not improve immediately.

It urged the airline to review its current approach and adopt more effective measures to address the problem, stressing that business realities demand a change in strategy where existing methods fail.

NCAA reiterated that it remains committed to protecting the rights of passengers while ensuring that airlines operate in a way that guarantees seamless travel experiences.
