Sanwo-Olu Charges Councils on Creative Solutions to Housing Deficit

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has inaugurated one hundred and one housing units named Greenwich Garden apartment in Agboyi Ketu Council Development Area of Lagos.

The Greenwich Garden apartment comprising sixty-six units of two- bedroom flats, fourteen units of three-bedroom semi-detached house and one unit of four-bedroom detached house, twenty units of three-bedroom terraces, and sixty-five residential plots is the first housing scheme executed by a Council area in Lagos.

At the inauguration, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the Council leadership for converting the dens of criminals in Akanimodo Ajalogun to affordable housing units for residents.

The Governor challenged other Council Chairmen in Lagos to borrow a leaf from Agboiyi Ketu through peer review to ensure more development at the grassroots with a call on developers to ensure government lands are not encroached upon.

Earlier, the Chairman of Agboyi Ketu, Mr Dele Oshinowo, expressed said that the housing units would beautify the landscape and increase economic activities in the council area.

The inauguration of the housing scheme coincided with the twentieth anniversary of the creation of the thirty seven Local Council Development Areas in Lagos by President Bola Tinubu.
