Security in place as 25,000 Expected at Greater Lagos Fiesta

The Lagos State government has unveiled activities to celebrate the Yuletide tagged Lagos Countdown 2024 with the hashtag Greater Lagos fiesta.

The Greater Lagos fiesta will be held simultaneously in the five Ibile Divisions of Lagos namely Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos Island, and Epe, while the symbolic fireworks into the new year 2024 will be held at Sol Beach, Oniru.

Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka, who stated this at a news conference at Alausa, said over twenty thousand participants are expected physically and virtually.

Mrs Benson-Awoyinka noted that the annual festive event had discovered and nurtured new home-made talents while grooming them with bigger platforms to be self reliant.

The Commissioner for Tourism Arts and Culture assured residents of adequate security for the seventy-two hours non-stop event from December 29th to 31st, with a call on local traders to tap into the opportunity to market themselves to the global world.

She said arrangements had been made with all the security agencies in Lagos to ensure maximum protection of fun seekers during the Yuletide.

The Greater Lagos fiesta will feature music, comedy and a display of fireworks, among others.
