
The Lagos State Government has called for calm over the collapsed building on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered an investigation into the incident.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso who made this known in a statement said the report of the investigations will be made public in due course.
Three people have so far been rescued, while four bodies were recovered from the building which reportedly collapsed at about 3 o’clock in the afternoon today (Monday)

It was alleged that the owner of the building and some construction workers are among those trapped when the building located at number 20, Gerrard road collapsed.
The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and other State functionaries, including the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. idris Salako, Commissioner for Special Duty, Mr. Tayo Bamgbose- Martins, as well as the General Manager of the State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke- Osanyintolu
were at the scene to muster help for people trapped in the collapsed building.
As at the time of filing in this report, rescue operation was still ongoing.
