Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability across the state, following the conclusion of a Security Council meeting held on Wednesday at the State House, Marina.
The routine meeting, chaired by the Governor, brought together heads of all security agencies operating within Lagos. In attendance were the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 9 Brigade, Brig.-Gen. A.O. Owolabi; Commander 651 Base Services Group, Nigerian Air Force, Group Capt. M.A. Imam; Commander NNS Beecroft, Apapa, Commodore P.P. Nimmyel; Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Moshood; and A.B. Alade, who represented the Director of the Department of State Services.
Also present were the Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Mrs. Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Tayo Ayinde; Chief Security Officer to the Governor, CSP Adekunle Fagbemi; and the Executive Secretary, Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, after receiving extensive briefings from the security commanders, expressed satisfaction with the current security situation. He commended the agencies for their coordinated efforts and urged them to remain vigilant as the state approaches the festive season.
He assured residents and visitors that Lagos will continue to be safe and peaceful, stressing that the government is fully prepared to sustain law and order throughout the Yuletide period.
“This season will truly be one of goodwill for all Lagosians,” the Governor stated.
