Sanwo-Olu Signs 2023 Budget

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has assented to One-point-seven- six-eight trillion naira as this year’s (2023) budget.

Tagged “Budget of continuity” the Budget has a capital expenditure of one point zero-nine trillion naira and a recurrent expenditure of seven hundred and forty eight billion naira, representing a ratio of fifty eight to forty two percent.

In his remarks after signing the budget, Governor Sanwo-Olu assured Lagos residents that the budget would be channeled to completing ongoing projects including the blue and red rail lines and that electioneering would not slow down the pace of development.

He said “I assur eyou of our commitment to continue to deliver the real dividends of democracy, you can also be rest assured that the ongoing electioneering has not and will not slow down the processes of governance, so all the promises that we have made to you, they are on track and we are committed to them. This new budge too; the Budget of Continuity” will further hasten and fasten dividends of democracy to all our citizens”

Governor Sanwo-Olu thanked residents for playing their parts through the payment of taxes and solicited their support to achieve more.

Earlier in a remark, the Chairman House Committee on Appropriation, Mr Gbolahan Yishawu, commended the Sanwo-Olu’s administration for the construction of people oriented projects and promised that the House would continue to support the executive arm of government

While presenting the appropriation bill to the Governor, the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr Sam Egube explained that it passed through a rigorous process during which all stakeholders were carried along.
