
The British government has been implored to support the President Bola Tinubu led administration in it’s quest to reposition the country to greater heights, especially in the areas of foreign direct investment to create job opportunities for teeming youths and maritime manpower capacity building.
The Oba of Lagos, Oba Riliwan Aremu made the appeal while playing host to the British Deputy High Commissioner in Nigeria, Johnny Baxter when he led the Commanding officer of British War Ship, HMS TRENT, Captain Tim Longford and his crew on a courtesy visit to the palace of the monarch at lga lduganran on Lagos lsland.
According to him, British gave Nigeria a sound administrative structure, even now, the British government has the ability to do more for Nigeria. He said
“ Nigeria needs the support of the British government in key sectors of the economy, because Nigeria has a resourceful leader in President Bola Tinubu who is ready to do his best for the good of the people. Akiolu
Oba Akiolu urged Nigerians to continue to support the federal government and security agencies especially on intelligence gathering because effective community policing remains a collective responsibility.

Earlier, the British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Johnny Baxter who commended the monarch for his role in stabilizing the country, noted that monarchy plays a vital role in the preservation of culture.

The Commanding officer of the ship, Captain Tim Longford explained that the British War Ship was in Lagos to work with and train personnel of the Nigerian Navy.
