Three Persons with Disability Nabbed in NDLEA Drug Sweep Across States

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, says it has intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking across the country, arresting many suspects, including three persons with disability, in coordinated operations in Anambra and Kwara states.

NDLEA spokesman, Mr Femi Babafemi, says a 60-year-old suspect, Romanus Nwabara, was arrested in a forest hideout in Onitsha with packaged skunk, while another suspect was caught in Ogbunike with tramadol, diazepam and other hard drugs.

In Kwara State, operatives intercepted a passenger carrying over six kilograms of skunk concealed in a school bag.

The agency also recorded a major breakthrough in Lagos, where operatives raided a mansion in Lekki allegedly used as a drug warehouse.

More than two thousand kilograms of loud, a strong strain of cannabis worth over five point eight billion naira, were recovered alongside luxury vehicles and packaging materials.

In separate operations in Nasarawa, Kogi and Lagos, several other suspects were arrested with large quantities of skunk and illicit substances, while officers also uncovered a makeshift factory in Ijora Badia where cannabis was being mixed with dangerous substances for street distribution.
