Reigning champions Rivers Hoopers will aim to maintain their unbeaten status today when they confront perennial foes Kano Pillars in the Nigeria Professional Basketball League Final 8 for men in Lagos.

Question is, can Pillars stop the table topping Hoopers in today’s 4pm battle at the Indoor Sports Hall, National Stadium Lagos?

In early fixtures for today, bottom placed Lagos Islanders will square off against Benue Braves while Police Baton face Nigeria Customs.

2nd placed Kwara Falcons who also remain unbeaten with two wins on the bounce will confront Gombe Bulls.

To strengthen their position in the table the Baba Jubril tutored Falcons had romped to a 65-54 win over Pillars yesterday to safeguard their 2 game winning streak.

Elsewhere in yesterday’s matches Police Baton and Lagos Islanders slumped to agonising losses to remain winless in the competition.

Braves compounded Baton’s woes by inflicting a 61-43 defeat on them while Islanders collapsed 54-70 to Nigeria Customs.

Only the top two teams from the standings will play Saturday’s final game which will produce Nigeria’s sole representative to the Basketball African League this year.
