Youths Corps Members Charged to Promote Unity in Diversity

The National Youths Corps Members have been urged to support government in its drive to ensure that its policy on sustaining Unity in Diversity in the country is propagated.

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu made the plea in a message to the Swearing-in of the 2021 Batch “B” Stream Two Corps Members posted to Lagos State, held at the National Youths Service Corps temporary orientation camp in Iyana-Ipaja Lagos.

Represented by the Coordinator,  NYSC Lagos State, Mr. Eddie Megwa, Governor Sanwo-Olu explained that going by the  vibrancy of youths Corps members and their presence in every nook and cranny in the country, they have the potential to preach the importance of peaceful co-existence in their host communities across the country.

He also enjoined Corps members especially those posted to Lagos State to complement government efforts at taking the state to greater heights by contributing immensely to the state’s developmental programmes in the various sectors of the economy.

Governor Sanwo-Olu however, encouraged the Corps members to take advantage of the various Skills Acquisition programmes already packaged for them during their service year so that they could acquire relevant skills that would make them self reliant after the service year rather than relying solely on White Collar job that were no longer readily available.

Justice Owolabi Dabiri later administered the Oath of Allegiance on the One Thousand, Six Hundred and Thirty One Corps members at the event on behalf of the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Kazeem Alogba.
