CBN Reaffirms Commitment to Circulation of Clean Naira Notes

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the circulation of clean currency notes nationwide while discouraging practices that undermine the integrity of the Naira.Speaking at the CBN Special Day during the 20th Abuja International Trade Fair, the Acting Director of Corporate Communications, Mrs. Hakama Ali, urged Nigerians to respect the Naira and serve as ambassadors of the “Clean Naira” campaign.

She warned against spraying, mutilating, hawking, or counterfeiting the currency, describing it as a vital symbol of national identity.

Represented by Deputy Director Ibrahim Abbas, Mrs. Ali emphasized that Nigeria’s economic sustainability depends on a strong financial system, a stable foreign exchange market, and effective collaboration between monetary and fiscal authorities.
