DTigers Continue Losing Streak at 2023 FIBA AfroCan, Play Hosts Next

Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team DTigers suffered another defeat today in the FIBA AfroCan in Angola.

The coach Ogo Odaudu tutored side slumped 59-61 to Kenya in a classification game which makes it back to back losses by the Nigerian team after yesterday’s 72-74 quarter final defeat to reigning champions Congo DR.

In the Kenyan game Nigeria lost the 1st quarter 13-20, bounced back to win the 2nd quarter 18-13 but slumped 11-13, 15-17 in the 2nd half to bite the dust.

Michael Daramola led Nigeria in scoring with 14pts and also pulled a leading rebound of 8.

Tigers will now play host nation Angola tomorrow in another classification game to determine 7th to 8th places of the overall standings.

The 2nd AfroCan championship comes to a close this Sunday with the final slated for Pavilhao Multiusos de Luanda.
