The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) has reaffirmed its dedication to the collaboration with Radio France International (RFI).
Director, Lagos Operations FRCN, Lagos, Mrs. Bolanle Owoyemi made this known during a courtesy visit to the FRCN Broadcasting House Ikoyi, Lagos by the RFI management.

Mrs Owoyemi who received the visitors on behalf of the Director General, FRCN, Dr. Mohammed Bulama, assured them that RFI’s programs, echoing the concerns of the masses, find a resonant home on Bond FM, one of Radio Nigeria’s Lagos stations.
According to her, this alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda makes them a perfect fit for Bond FM’s audience.
She underscored the strong relationship between Bond FM and RFI, emphasizing Bond FM’s significance as a channel broadcasting in major Nigerian languages.
” I want to welcome you to FRCN, Lagos Operations. This is where broadcasting started in Lagos and over the years we have been getting stronger and better by the day.
“When he talked about Bond FM and how the relationship started, I want to say that the relationship that we have established over the years has been mutually beneficial. We have been exchanging programs on Bond FM, which is our indigenous channel.
“We have three channels here in Lagos operations namely: Bond FM, 92.9 FM, Metro FM, 97.7 FM. And Radio One, 103.5 FM.
“I’ll call Bond FM Nigeria, because it takes the major languages in Nigeria, Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba”, she stated.”
In response, Mr. Jean-Marc Four, Director of Radio France, pledged substantial support for Bond FM, including investments in modern broadcast technologies, computers, materials, and content creator training.
Stressing the enduring link between RFI and Bond FM, Four highlighted past collaborations and expressed optimism about future growth and enhanced services, particularly in the Hausa language.
“When Radio France International tried to settle down here in Nigeria, Bond FM was one of the radio stations that helped us. So, we have had a strong link.
“And then, over the years, we have helped one another. Bond FM has helped Radio France International, and in the other way around, we have helped them, you know, with training, with material, and so on.
“We have made, in the past months, major investments ,regarding the computers, the technologies, regarding a new venue for our team, and we are very optimistic.
“We think that we can continue to grow up and offer better services in Hausa language. And so, I think that with Bond FM, we can continue to work together and maybe help Bond FM with new technologies too, especially on the digital platforms. I think this is a very major issue for them and for us too”, he added.
Head of the Hausa Service, Bond FM, Alhaji Isah Koko assured the success of the partnership and urged RFI to focus on projecting the positive policies of the Federal government, especially its commitment to eradicating corruption.
Senior officers present during the courtesy visit included Mr. Thierry Franchon, Chief Technology Officer of RFI, and Princess Adenike Adegoke, General Manager of Bond FM.
The courtesy visit culminated in a warm telephone conversation between the Director General, FRCN, Dr. Mohammed Bulama, and the RFI team.
This personal touch underscores the depth of the partnership, a testament to the power of collaboration in shaping the future of broadcasting.
