The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has dismissed 43 personnel over offences ranging from desertion to scandalous conduct and patrol-related misconduct.
According to the Corps, 31 officers were dismissed for desertion, five for scandalous behaviour, and seven for patrol misconduct.
Describing the action as firm and uncompromising, the Corps stated that the FRSC badge represents honour, discipline, and responsibility, warning that any personnel who breach institutional standards will face the full consequences of the Corps’ disciplinary framework.
Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, mni, reaffirmed the agency’s zero-tolerance stance on indiscipline and ethical violations.
He emphasised that FRSC operates as a professional paramilitary organisation governed by strict operational standards and will not tolerate conduct capable of undermining public trust or institutional integrity.
The Corps Marshal noted that desertion constitutes a serious violation of service oath and operational duty, particularly in a safety-critical agency tasked with safeguarding millions of road users daily.
He added that scandalous behaviour and patrol misconduct weaken public confidence and contradict the Corps’ core values of discipline, transparency, and service excellence.
FRSC assured Nigerians that it will strengthen internal monitoring systems, reinforce supervisory mechanisms, and intensify ethical reorientation across commands nationwide.
The leadership reiterated its commitment to building a workforce anchored on integrity, discipline, and operational excellence.
The Corps called on the motoring public to maintain confidence in its mandate of ensuring safer roads across the country.
