Lagos Assembly Adopts LASUSTECH Land Dispute Report, Confirms Parking Authority GM

The Lagos State House of Assembly has formally adopted the recommendations of its Committee on Rules and Business concerning a longstanding land dispute involving the Eyingbala family and the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Ikorodu.

The resolution followed the presentation of the Committee’s report by the Majority Leader and Chairman of the Committee on Rules and Business, Mr. Noheem Adams, who outlined the findings and key recommendations before the House.

At the centre of the petition, titled “Notification of Decision to Carve Out Land for Regularizations from Lagos State University of Science and Technology Property Situated in Ikorodu,” is the directive that the Lagos State Government allocate 50 hectares of land within Ikorodu to the descendants of Segun Eyingbala as compensation.

The Committee established that the petitioners are the original customary owners of the disputed land, now situated within the premises of LASUSTECH, formerly known as Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH).

The land had previously been acquired by the State Government in overriding public interest.

In adopting the recommendations, lawmakers commended the Committee’s diligence and thoroughness, making its report the official resolution of the House.

Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), IkoroduIn a separate development during plenary, the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, announced the confirmation of Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu as the General Manager of the Lagos State Parking Authority.

Citing Section 92 of the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018, the Speaker declared the House’s approval of her appointment.

Mrs. Adelabu’s nomination had initially been stepped down in January 2026 to allow for further legislative scrutiny. However, following a screening exercise, lawmakers expressed satisfaction with her professional competence and strategic vision to reposition the Authority for improved operational efficiency and service delivery across the state.

Her confirmation was sealed via a voice vote.

Subsequently, the Speaker directed the Clerk of the House, Mr. Olalekan Onafeko, to communicate the House’s resolutions to the relevant authorities for necessary action.
