The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a reduction in fares for the 2026 Hajj, with intending pilgrims expected to pay about ₦200,000 less than they did last year.
NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Usman, said the new fares were approved by the Federal Government after consultations with stakeholders, including the Forum of States leadership.
According to a statement by the Commission’s Principal Information Officer, Mr. Sani Shafii, pilgrims from the Maiduguri–Yola Zone comprising Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, and Taraba States will pay ₦8.1million, down from ₦8.3million last year.
Other northern states are to pay ₦8.2million, compared to ₦8.4million previously, while intending pilgrims from the southern states will pay ₦8.6 million, a reduction of ₦223,000 from the ₦8.8 million charged last year.
Professor Usman urged intending pilgrims to complete full fare payments before the December 31, 2025 deadline.
