The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has announced the remittance of N8.86 trillion to the Federation Account between January and July 2025.
In a statement yesterday, the company also confirmed its re-entry into Ogoniland, describing the move as a landmark moment in Nigeria’s history.
Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC, Bayo Ojulari, said the return goes beyond boosting oil production, stressing the importance of responsible investments and prioritising community development in the nation’s progress.
Ojulari noted that the re-entry underscores NNPC’s commitment to the Ogoni re-entry plan and reflects a broader pursuit of justice, reconciliation, and prosperity.
“The re-entry into Ogoniland is not just about oil and gas. It is about justice, healing, and charting a new future for our nation,” Ojulari said in a statement by NNPC spokesperson, Andy Odeh.
