New Sponsorship Deal Transforms 2025/26 CCC League

Excitement is building across the 22 teams of the Club Cricket Committee (CCC) League as organisers announced Sterling Bank PLC as the new headline sponsor for the 2025/26 season.

The one-year partnership is expected to significantly elevate the profile and quality of the league.

Speaking during the official unveiling on 14 November 2025 in Lagos, the new CCC Chairman and former international, Endurance Ofem, highlighted several innovations aimed at transforming the league.

He revealed ongoing talks for live streaming of all Premier League matches, allowing fans worldwide to follow the season in real time.

This season, nine teams will feature in the Premier League, West Africa’s biggest club cricket competition, while 13 teams will battle in Division 1.

The top six Premier League sides will advance to the Super Six to determine the champions, while Division 1 will produce two promoted teams through a Super 4 playoff.

Sterling Bank’s Head of Marketing, Mr. Donatus Okpakor, outlined the bank’s motivation for backing the league, noting four key pillars: elevating the game, boosting media and community visibility, supporting grassroots development, and building cricket heroes.

He added that strengthening fan engagement and ensuring smooth league operations were also central to the partnership.

The 2025/26 CCC League will bowl off on 22 November at the University of Lagos and Tafawa Balewa Square cricket ovals, with defending champions Rising Stars preparing to defend their title.

The championship is scheduled to conclude in March 2026..
