The match between Nigeria and Kenya in the 2nd phase of the 9th Kwibuka women’s T20i tournament is underway in Rwanda.
Kenya won the toss and opted to bowl in the game 11 of the championship.
Later in the afternoon the Nigerian ladies also known as Female Yellow Greens will take on tournament hosts Rwanda.
The captain of the Nigerian team Blessing Eguma expressed confidence going into the 2nd phase battles:
“Going into the second phase, we are highly prepared for the battle ahead.
“The tournament has been so exciting and competitive so far.
“We’ve met so many people with different talent, which has been so challenging and tasking for us.”
According to a member of the Nigeria Cricket Federation media team Seun Ajidagba, the Yellow Greens had beaten both their Kenyan and Rwandan counterparts in the first phase last weekend and will be banking on more victories today against them to improve their 2nd position.
Elsewhere at the Independent Polytechnic General College table toppers Uganda will square up to Kenya in another afternoon game.
