Tinubu Pledges Support for Tunde Onakoya’s Chess in Slums Initiative

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced that the Federal Government will collaborate with Tunde Onakoya, the Chess Guinness World Record holder, to expand his Chess in Slums Africa initiative across Nigeria.

This partnership aims to empower more children and youths nationwide through education and skill development.

In a tweet on Monday via his official handle @OfficialABAT, following a meeting with Onakoya, President Tinubu praised the young chess champion for his transformative work with underserved children.

He noted that Onakoya’s mission strongly aligns with his administration’s “No Child Left Behind, No Talent Wasted” agenda.

During the meeting held at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos State, the President highlighted Onakoya’s inspiring journey from the streets of Lagos to global recognition, describing him as a shining example of Nigerian resilience, talent, and potential.
